Kurt Okraku has delivered a bold and defiant message ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, expressing unwavering belief that Ghana’s senior national team will rise to the occasion and leave a lasting mark on the world stage.
Speaking at a high-profile fundraising gala designed to support Ghana’s World Cup preparations, the Ghana Football Association president painted a picture of a team built on resilience, unity, and unseen strengths carefully developed over time.
The event, graced by John Dramani Mahama, alongside Kofi Adams and Thomas Nyarko Ampem, also saw strong backing from the entertainment industry. Music stars Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy pledged significant financial contributions to help mobilize fan support for the tournament across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

With passion and conviction, Okraku emphasized the work done behind the scenes by head coach Otto Addo and his technical team, insisting that Ghana is not heading to the competition just to participate, but to compete fiercely and reshape its football narrative:
“Today, we are very confident that the intangible assets that we have produced over time, the intangible assets that have been put together by coach [Otto] Addo and his team, we will make Ghana proud. We will go into this tournament with our chest up, ready to fight for the strip and ready to change our story. We fear no foe and believe me…Ghana football will speak.”
Drawn into a challenging Group L that includes England, Croatia, and Panama, the Black Stars face a stern test. However, Okraku’s tone suggests a squad ready to embrace the pressure and defy expectations.
