Ghanaian-German midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has begun a new chapter in his career after completing a move from Bundesliga outfit SC Freiburg to VfL Osnabrück.
The 30-year-old attacking midfielder sealed his transfer to the 2. Bundesliga side on August 10, joining Osnabrück as a free agent after his association with Freiburg came to an end.
Born in Accra, Kyereh holds both Ghanaian and German nationality and brings considerable experience from his years in the German football system. Primarily deployed in the No. 10 role, the right-footed midfielder is capable of operating centrally behind the forwards and adds another creative option to Osnabrück’s attacking setup.
Kyereh’s career in Germany stretches back to his formative years, including a successful spell with VfL Wolfsburg’s youth system. During the 2013/14 campaign, he was part of the Wolfsburg Under-19 side that won the German Under-19 Bundesliga North/North-east championship.
He later made his mark with SV Wehen Wiesbaden, where he helped the club lift the Hessen Cup during the 2018/19 season.

His career subsequently took him to the Bundesliga, with Freiburg becoming one of the most prominent stops on his journey through German professional football.
Now, after leaving the top flight, Kyereh will continue his career in Germany’s second tier with Osnabrück, offering the club experience, versatility and an attacking threat between midfield and the forward line.
Standing at 1.79 metres, the midfielder is naturally suited to central attacking positions and is expected to provide additional creativity as Osnabrück compete in the 2. Bundesliga.
The transfer was completed without a fee, with Kyereh joining the club as a free agent. His current market valuation is reported at €100,000, while no contract expiry date has been disclosed following his arrival.
The move, completed on August 10, represents a return to Germany’s second tier for Kyereh as he looks to make an impact with Osnabrück after his spell in the Bundesliga with Freiburg.
