Ghanaian forward Joseph Opoku wasted little time making his mark at Swansea City, finding the net on his first appearance for the Welsh side as they secured a narrow pre-season victory over Spanish club Leganés.
Fresh from sealing his move from Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem, the 22-year-old delivered an encouraging glimpse of what he could offer in the Championship, capping an energetic first outing with the opening goal shortly before the interval.
Opoku broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute, finishing confidently to give Swansea a deserved advantage after a lively display that repeatedly unsettled the visitors’ backline.
The Ghana international remained a constant attacking threat after the restart, combining intelligent movement with relentless pressing before his afternoon came to an end in the 63rd minute, when he was replaced by Ronald.
