Ghanaian talents Maxwell Woledzi and Prince-Osei Owusu have earned league-wide recognition after being named in the MLS Team of the Week, following commanding displays for Nashville SC and CF Montréal, respectively.
Both players were instrumental in their sides’ emphatic victories during Matchday 8, delivering performances that stood out across the league.
Woledzi anchored Nashville’s defense with authority, helping the Eastern Conference frontrunners secure a composed 2-0 win over Atlanta United FC. His assured positioning, aerial strength, and composure in possession played a key role in preserving a clean sheet and maintaining his team’s momentum at the top of the standings.

At the other end of the pitch, Owusu produced a devastating attacking display for Montréal in their 4-1 demolition of New York Red Bulls. The forward had a hand in three of his team’s goals, showcasing clinical finishing and intelligent movement.
His outstanding outing placed him firmly in contention for Player of the Week honors, ultimately edged out by Lionel Messi of Inter Miami CF.
The Team of the Week also features a mix of standout performers from across the league, including Petar Musa of FC Dallas, Kristijan Kahlina representing Charlotte FC, and Jefferson Díaz of Minnesota United FC.
Further inclusions underline the league’s diversity of talent, with Olwethu Makhanya (Philadelphia Union), Ousseni Bouda (San Jose Earthquakes), Diego Luna and Sergi Solans (both Real Salt Lake), alongside Cristian Roldan of Seattle Sounders FC.
