Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has spoken of his satisfaction after being rewarded for his impressive form with the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month accolade for February 2026.
The Leicester City winger earned the distinction thanks to a sensational long-distance effort against Birmingham City, a strike that proved decisive in securing an important win for his side.
The 22-year-old edged out strong competition from Shea Charles of Southampton, Max Bird of Bristol City, and Jack Rudoni representing Coventry City.
Reflecting on the achievement, Fatawu emphasized how meaningful the moment was for him personally.
“I always try to score and give assists, so it is nice when your hard work pays off,” Fatawu said.
“Everything we do on the pitch is to win, so we need to do better and keep working hard between now and the end of the season to make sure we stay in this league.”
Fatawu’s impact has been one of the few bright spots in what has otherwise been a difficult campaign for Leicester. His attacking output has stood out, with nine goals and seven assists in 37 appearances underlining his importance to the team.
Despite his individual brilliance, Leicester remain locked in a tense battle near the foot of the table. The Foxes currently sit second from bottom on 38 points, with just eight fixtures remaining as they fight to preserve their Championship status.
