Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Gidi has completed a move to Major League Soccer side FC Cincinnati, joining from Slovakian club MSK Žilina during the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old has signed a three-year contract with an additional one-year option, arriving under the U22 Initiative Player rule, according to the official statement.
Gidi brings solid European pedigree, having clocked over 100 competitive appearances for Žilina, including outings in the Slovak top flight and continental football.

His addition is expected to inject energy and depth into Cincinnati’s midfield, with his adaptability across various roles being a key asset.

A graduate of New Life Academy, Gidi couldn’t hide his excitement at the next chapter of his career.
“I’m thrilled to be here,” the Ghanaian said. “I’ll give everything for this badge, fight for the team’s objectives, and hopefully win trophies with Cincinnati.”
Before completing his MLS switch, Gidi featured four times this season for Žilina, including appearances in the UEFA Conference League.
