Former Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan has expressed strong belief in Mohammed Kudus’ potential to ascend to world-class status.

The Tottenham Hotspur forward has steadily carved out a key role for both club and country, despite encountering hurdles since his transfer from West Ham United. Kudus has found the net twice in 19 appearances for the North London side.

In a candid discussion with ex-Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand, Gyan, who represented Ghana at the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups, spoke highly of the young midfielder, projecting a bright future for the Ghanaian star.

Black Stars on alert as Mohammed Kudus faces lengthy spell on the sidelines

“Mohammed Kudus is doing well,” Gyan remarked. “I wish him well because he is someone who is coming up in the ranks, and people should watch out. I always ask him to take good care of himself.”

Currently sidelined due to injury, Kudus is not expected to return until April, a blow that will see him miss Ghana’s friendly clash against Germany in March.

Nevertheless, he is widely expected to be part of the Black Stars’ squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he could play a pivotal role.
