Bechem United coach Mallam Yahaya has struck a confident but measured tone as the Hunters prepare for a demanding Ghana Premier League encounter against Basake Holy Stars this weekend.
After a difficult start to the campaign, Bechem United appear to have rediscovered their rhythm. The club has recorded four victories in their last five outings, suffering just one defeat, a run that has significantly eased relegation fears. Consecutive wins over Berekum Chelsea and Gold Stars have propelled the Hunters out of the danger zone and into 11th place on the league standings.
As attention turns to the Week 19 clash, Mallam Yahaya admits his side faces a stern examination away from home but insists the team is fully committed to extending their recent resurgence.
Speaking to Bechem United TV, the assistant coach acknowledged the quality of their opponents while underlining his team’s ambition.
“Holy Stars are a good team. They are a team difficult to beat at home, but we are also determined to get a good result,” Mallam Yahaya said.
He further stressed that focus and effort will be key if Bechem are to come away with maximum points:
“It’s all about hard work, and that is what we are doing. In football, if you relax, you can get the result, so we are focusing on working hard to ensure that at the end of the day, the team will get to a good place.”
The Hunters will be hoping their renewed confidence and momentum translate into a third straight league victory when they face Basake Holy Stars on Sunday, January 18, in what promises to be a fiercely contested Ghana Premier League fixture.
