Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito insists the club’s Ghana Premier League ambitions remain firmly intact, even as their recent form threatens to derail their campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors endured another frustrating outing on Sunday, falling 1-0 to Hohoe United in a tense Matchday 13 encounter. William Oduro’s decisive strike at the Hohoe Sports Stadium condemned Kotoko to a fourth consecutive game without victory, a run that has unsettled their early-season momentum.

The setback leaves Kotoko sitting fifth on the league table with 21 points, five adrift of leaders Medeama SC. Despite the widening gap and a string of disappointing displays, Zito remains unwavering in his belief that the title race is still open for his side.

Zito handed timely boost as Asante Kotoko target victory against Hohoe United

“I haven’t lost hope of winning the league, and we will bounce back stronger,” the coach asserted after the defeat, showing no signs of surrender.

With pressure mounting, Zito and his squad now turn their attention to a crucial home fixture against Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Stadium in Matchday 14. Kotoko will be desperate to halt their slump and reignite their chase for the summit.
