Tottenham Hotspur needed every ounce of determination on Tuesday night, and Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus once again proved pivotal as the London side battled to an electrifying 2-2 draw against Newcastle United in the Premier League. His inch-perfect assist, his fifth of the campaign, keeps him joint-top of the league’s assist chart.
For much of the evening, St. James’ Park buzzed with intensity but lacked goals. Both sides exchanged purposeful spells in the opening 45 minutes, yet neither managed to break through, heading down the tunnel locked in a goalless stalemate.

The contest, however, roared to life in the final quarter. Newcastle struck first in the 71st minute when Nick Woltemade teed up Bruno Guimarães, who drilled a crisp finish into the bottom corner to ignite the home crowd.
Tottenham responded swiftly. Seven minutes later, Mohammed Kudus delivered a teasing cross that drifted beyond goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario’s reach, perfectly inviting Cristian Romero to climb above his marker and nod in the equaliser.
But the drama was far from over. The Magpies reclaimed the lead in the 86th minute when Anthony Gordon calmly dispatched a penalty, steering the ball into the right-hand side of the net.
Spurs, unwilling to concede defeat, pushed relentlessly into added time. Their perseverance paid off spectacularly, Romero, already on the scoresheet, produced a sensational overhead kick to level the match and stun the home support.
