AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo says he is currently experiencing the finest spell of his career after inspiring his side to a 3–1 comeback victory over Fulham on Friday night.

The Ghanaian international was in dazzling form at the Vitality Stadium, scoring twice and assisting another as the Cherries overturned an early deficit to secure all three points.

Fulham had taken the lead through Ryan Sessegnon, but that only sparked Semenyo into life. The 24-year-old produced a moment of individual brilliance midway through the second half, dancing past defenders on the left flank before threading a shot through Bernd Leno’s legs from an impossible angle to level matters.

As Fulham pressed for an equaliser deep into stoppage time, Semenyo struck again — racing onto a precise pass from Ben Christie to seal the win and complete a stunning personal performance. He also provided an assist for Justin Kluivert’s earlier goal, making him directly involved in all three of Bournemouth’s strikes.

Reflecting on the night, Semenyo credited his faith and his manager’s half-time message for igniting the turnaround.

“It was a bit of a dull first-half, but the head coach told us at half-time to get as many shots in as we can,” he stated. “We conceded which was frustrating, but we build up and build up and yeah, the win came.”

Describing his first goal, the former Bristol City man said instinct took over once he found himself isolated on the wing.

“When I got the ball for my goal, I knew I was going to beat my man. I looked up and there were no options to cross, so the next though process was trying to get it through the keeper’s legs, and it was executed perfectly. I’m really happy with it. The second goal was different, I had to get my head down and run, see if I can support, I thought Ben was going to go by himself! I was tired, but needed to be calm and Ben did really well to pick me out,” he added.

The forward, whose consistency has made him one of Bournemouth’s standout performers this season, expressed his belief that the team’s progress comes as no shock to those inside the club:

“I don’t think it’s a surprise to people internally that we are doing well, we’ll keep pushing and see what happens.”

Grateful for his form and the opportunities before him, Semenyo concluded by giving credit where it’s due:

“I’d like to think I’m playing the best football of my career and I thank God massively, I’m reaping the rewards now, and I thank him always.”

It was a night to remember for Semenyo — one that underlined his growing importance to Bournemouth’s attacking ambitions and reinforced his status as one of the Premier League’s most exciting African forwards.
