Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu believes Hearts of Oak are heading into the new season with a renewed spirit and a much stronger mentality under coach Didi Dramani.
The Phobians kick off their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign at the Accra Sports Stadium against newcomers Hohoe United, in a fixture expected to draw national attention with President John Dramani Mahama among the spectators.
Badu, speaking to the media in an interview, praised the visible changes he has seen in the team since Dramani took charge, contrasting the current atmosphere with the tenure of former coach Aboubakar Ouattara.
“Hearts of Oak have really prepared for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season under new coach Didi Dramani. He’s played a couple of games with the team, and you could see the mentality of the players have drastically changed,” he noted.
“Gradually, I think the Phobia spirit is coming back. Hearts of Oak will be exciting this season. In the Top 4, they were able to stage a strong comeback against Goldstars after going down by two goals,” Badu added.
The Accra giants showed signs of revival last season, finishing in the top four despite missing out on silverware, a major step forward from the previous campaign when they flirted dangerously with relegation. With Dramani now at the helm, Hearts are setting their sights on nothing less than the league crown.
