Ghana head coach Otto Addo has called for laser-sharp concentration and mental resilience as the Black Stars gear up for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad on Thursday in N’Djamena.

Speaking after a high-intensity training session, Addo emphasized that the occasion carries weight for the entire nation, but insisted his players must block out distractions and stay locked in on their mission.

“Yeah, it’s a special moment, I think, for the country. But like I said, we have to really be focused on the game. We blend everything else out, and we know what our aim is. Our aim is to qualify for the World Cup. And if we beat Chad, we’re getting closer. So, we do everything we can to win this match,” Addo told the press.

Flight chaos keeps LA Galaxy’s Joseph Paintsil out of Chad clash

Ghana head into the tie as leaders of Group I, boasting 15 points from six outings, and remain on course for a historic fifth World Cup appearance. Victory over Chad would not only tighten their grip on top spot but also provide a psychological boost ahead of their next showdown against Mali on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

With qualification firmly within reach, Addo’s men are expected to approach Thursday’s clash with the same intensity and precision that has defined their campaign so far.
