Medeama SC have won the race for one of Ghana football’s most coveted free agents, securing the signature of former Hearts of Oak powerhouse Salim Adams in a deal that has sent ripples through the local transfer market, according to Ghanasoccernet.

The 22-year-old midfielder, once on the radar of Asante Kotoko and clubs in Canada and Israel, has opted to pledge his future to the reigning Ghana Premier League champions. His signing is a statement of intent from Medeama, who are determined to fortify their squad ahead of a title defence and another shot at CAF competition.

Adams walked away from Hearts earlier this year after his contract expired, despite efforts by the Phobians to tie him down with a new deal. His availability sparked a bidding war, with Kotoko believed to be in advanced talks. But Medeama’s decisive approach sealed the agreement, underlining their growing reputation as a club capable of outmanoeuvring rivals.

A combative and intelligent midfielder, Adams first made waves in 2021 when he broke into Hearts’ first team before earning a loan move to MLS side FC Cincinnati. His spell in the United States sharpened his tactical awareness and positional discipline. Back in Ghana, he added a more attacking dimension to his game, contributing key goals and assists last season despite reduced minutes.

Though the club has yet to make a formal announcement, sources close to the deal have confirmed that all terms have been finalised. Adams is expected to slot seamlessly into Medeama’s engine room, offering steel and balance to a squad already brimming with talent.
