Italian Serie A outfit Atalanta BC are set to bolster their midfield ranks with the acquisition of American international Yunus Musah, having struck a loan agreement with local rivals AC Milan.

Sources close to the negotiations, including transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, reveal that the deal has been verbally sealed and will see Musah temporarily swap the Rossoneri shirt for that of La Dea. The agreement includes an option to buy, though Atalanta are not obligated to trigger it at the end of the season.

The full package is reportedly valued at around €25 million, combining the loan fee with a potential future purchase. Before making the move, Musah is expected to put pen to paper on a fresh contract with Milan, safeguarding the club’s long-term interests.

The 22-year-old, who represented the United States at the 2022 World Cup but also has Ghanaian heritage, endured a stop-start first campaign at San Siro. Despite racking up 33 appearances across all competitions, he struggled to cement a regular starting berth in Stefano Pioli’s midfield.

Now, a spell under Gian Piero Gasperini offers the dynamic midfielder an enticing chance to reboot his career in Bergamo, sharpen his game, and stake a stronger claim for minutes ahead of the 2026 World Cup on home soil.
