Ghanaian midfielder Sharif Osman scored his maiden goal for Hatayspor, but it proved little consolation as the side fell to a 3-1 defeat against Bodrum FK in the Turkish First League.
The 23-year-old found the net late in the contest at the Fuat Tosyalı Stadium, reducing the deficit for the home side after an impressive attacking display from the visitors had already placed the match beyond reach.
Osman, who arrived at Hatayspor during the winter transfer window, has wasted no time adapting to life at his new club. The former Inter Allies FC midfielder has gradually grown into an important figure in the team, delivering steady performances despite the club’s difficult campaign.
Since completing his move, the Ghanaian has featured seven times in league action as Hatayspor continue battling to secure their status in the division.
The encounter itself came alive early in the second half when Bodrum broke the deadlock. Arlind Ajeti struck moments after the restart to give the visitors the lead.
Just three minutes later, Ali Habezoglu doubled Bodrum’s advantage, putting Hatayspor on the back foot. The visitors then wrapped up the points in the 64th minute when Pedro Brazão calmly converted from the penalty spot.
