Highly-rated youngster Abraham Owusu-Gyasi has taken another significant step in his development after joining the senior squad of Arsenal FC during training ahead of their highly anticipated Premier League encounter against Chelsea FC on Sunday.

The 17-year-old defender, who is eligible to represent Ghana, was invited to train with the first team as preparations intensify for the crucial London derby in the English top flight.

His inclusion in the session reflects the growing belief within the club that the teenage right-back has the potential to break into the senior ranks in the near future.

Owusu-Gyasi, who currently features for Arsenal’s U-18 side, has been one of the standout performers in the youth setup this season. The London-born talent has impressed with his maturity and consistency in the U-18 Premier League South, where he has already made 10 appearances across all competitions during the 2025–26 campaign.

His rapid progress has not gone unnoticed by the technical bench at the Emirates Stadium, with the coaching staff rewarding his performances by allowing him to train alongside the club’s established stars ahead of the high-stakes clash with their West London rivals.

The opportunity offers the young defender a valuable chance to experience the intensity and demands of first-team football while continuing his development within one of England’s most competitive environments.
