Hans Kwofie finally breaks goal duck as Legon Cities beat WAFA

Legon Cities flipped to winning ways by posting a 2-1 victory over WAFA SC in their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 21 clash Sunday afternoon.

Coach Maxwell Konadu’s side needed to show recovery after seeing a run of 5 games without defeat ended by Great Olympics just last week.

And experienced forward finally registered his first goal of the league season in 12 outings by scoring in the 23rd minute to set the tone for the Royals.

Then just after the half-hour mark, winger Abdul Nassiru Hamza doubled the lead by finishing off a through-ball inside the box.

The two-goal advantage put Legon Cities very much in control of the fixture until the 80th minute when Moses Aidam halved the deficit for the Academy Boys.

Legon Cities, with the 2-1 victory, climb to position 11 with 26 points in the league standings. WAFA, on the other hand, remain in the relegation zone – in 16th position on 21 points.
