Olympics beat Legon Cities with Ashie Quaye goal

Samuel Abbey-Ashie Quaye bagged his first goal since his return to Great Olympics as they beat Legon Cities 1-0 in a regional derby on Sunday.

The only goal in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 20 encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium came as early as the 13th minute.

And it came through the boots of the young Ashie Quaye – his first goal of the campaign after rejoining the Dade Boys in the second transfer window last month.

The 1-0 win means Great Olympics continue to maintain their third spot in the Ghana Premier League standings with 35 points after 20 matches.

The Royals, after defeat number 7 this season, drop to 13th position.

Legon Cities winger Jonah Attuquaye won the NASCO man-of-the-match award.
