Kotoko loan brigade: Osman, Sarkodie and two others to be farmed out

Asante Kotoko have put four members of the first team on loan for interested clubs.

New coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum is shaping up his side for the upcoming 2021/22 Ghana football season.

According to the club, Ibrahim Osman, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Godfred Asiamah and Samuel Frimpong are expected to join new clubs before the season starts.

Ibrahim Osman

Ibrahim Osman, since returning from injury last season, has not found his scoring prowess while on loan at King Faisal.

The forward did not enjoy more minutes for the Reds after returning from the worrying injury.

Emmanuel Sarkodie

The 25-year-old midfielder began his Kotoko career in fine fashion enjoying game time under Maxwell Konadu.

He fell low in the pecking order under Mariano Barreto when Habib Mohammed was moved from defence to midfield.

However, Sarkodie has expressed intent on returning to achieve his dream of making history with the
club.

Godfred Asiamah

The attacking midfielder joined the Porcupines on a three-year deal that will end next season.

He began his Kotoko career strongly in his early days during the Caf Confederation Cup game against Kano Pillars.

But the recent year for Asiamah has not been the best. He lost minutes under Maxwell Konadu and Mariano Barreto. Under Narteh Ogum, the midfielder’s only route to maintain fitness is to join another side on loan.

Samuel Frimpong

The defender competed with Christopher Nettey for the right-back position.

The signing of new boy Samuel Appiah from means Frimpong needs to find a different club.

But in the deal for Appiah, Kotoko wanted to use Frimpong in a swap deal. Now, Medeama want to sign him permanently.

The Porcupine Warriors have been busy on the transfer market, having signed Inter Allies star Richmond Lamptey and Richard Boadu from Medeama SC.

The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League kicks off on October 29, 2021.
