Olympics sink Faisal to move level with leaders Karela

After their memorable comeback exploits against Berekum Chelsea last weekend, King Faisal were brought back down to earth as Great Olympics comfortably dispatched them 3-1 in a Ghana Premier League match-day 12 fixture Tuesday afternoon.

The Dade Boys were without key man Gladson Awako due to card accumulation but were able to prove strong enough to keep the three points at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Charles Danso Otu shot Olympics in the lead with a cool finish in the 34th minute – a goal which went on to ensure they led 1-0 at the break.

And 10 minutes into the second half, winger Samuel Abbey Ashie Quaye doubled the lead.

Faisal responded with Frimpong Boateng pulling one back in the 74th minute.

But Michael Yeboah restored Olympics’ two-goal lead nine minutes from time.

With the 3-1 victory, high-flying Olympics – who were simply the better side – move level on points – 21 – with league leaders Karela United who travel to face Legon Cities on Thursday.
