Former Ghana U-20 World Cup winner, Daniel Agyei has laughed off reports that he has run away from his contract with Ethiopian side Jimma City.
The goalkeeper has confirmed to Footy-Ghana.com that he is indeed not in the camp of the Ethiopian Premier League new entrants.
In a brief chat from his Amsterdam base, the 28-year-old claims telling his recent employers to terminate the contract he signed about three months ago.
“Yes, I have told them [Jimma City FC] they should terminate my contract because I have to be in Holland and I can’t come back to Ethiopia for now,” Agyei informed Footy-Ghana.com’s Philip Otuo in an exclusive chat.
Daniel Agyei has been accused of absconding from his contract on the pretext of completing a court issue in Ghana. His club Jimma City was expecting his return until hearing he has moved on to Amsterdam.
The five times capped Black Stars shot-stopper previously had stints with Liberty Professionals and Medeama in the Ghana Premier League, South African PSL side Free State Stars and Tanzania giants Simba SC.
