The Black Meteors of Ghana will take on Egyptian giants Zamalek SC in a final preparatory match for the 2023 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).
The game has been confirmed for 14:30 GMT kickoff at the Zamalek Sports Complex on Tuesday, June 20.
It falls exactly a week since coach Ibrahim Tanko led the Meteors out of Accra to the Egyptian capital Cairo to step up their readiness for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics qualifying tournament scheduled to take place in neighbouring Morocco from June 24 to July 8.
The team first tested themselves against their Egyptian counterparts last Thursday in a game that ended 1-1 at the Alexandria Stadium.
Ghana’s final squad of 23 for the U-23 Afcon is expected to head out for Rabat after the Zamalek friendly which comes five days before their opening match.
The Black Meteors will begin their campaign in Group A on Sunday, June 25, 2023 against Congo. The game will be played at Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat with kickoff at 15:00 GMT.
Ghana will face the Moroccans in their second game on June 27, and then Guinea three days later to finish the group stage. Both games kick off at 20:00 GMT.
