2023 U-23 Afcon: Ghana’s final 25-man squad RELEASED

Ghana coach Ibrahim Tanko has named his final roster of 25 players for the 2023 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals in Morocco.

Three goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders, and seven attackers make up the team, which was officially made public in the early hours of the Black Meteors’ first match day – Sunday, June 25, 2023.

As previously reported, three players – Kamaldeen Sulemana (Southampton FC), Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer (Hamburg SV), and Kwadwo Poku Mahala (Los Angeles FC) – were denied participation by their clubs owing to the tournament’s schedule being outside the Fifa international window.

The eight-nation qualifying tournament for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games has Ghana in Group A with hosts Morocco, Congo, and Guinea.

The Black Meteors will play Congo to get their campaign underway. Kickoff for the match is scheduled at 15:00 GMT at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.

Ghana’s second match will be against Morocco on June 27, followed by Guinea three days later to round off the group stage. Both games kick off at 20:00 GMT.
