VIDEO: Aduana title push further dented by home defeat to Dreams

Aduana FC’s 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League (GPL) title dream was all but shattered on Saturday as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Dreams FC at Nana Agyeman Badu (NAB) I Stadium.

With Medeama SC who only displaced them from the top of the standings last weekend producing a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over King Faisal in the opening fixture of match-day 32 to move four points clear, the Fire Boys knew only a win would keep them in the race.

As the two-time league winners churned out a labored display in front of owner and patron Nana Agyeman Badu II on his birthday, it was apparent that last weekend’s humbling defeat at Accra Lions had taken its toll on them.

The decisive goal arrived on the hour mark when a free-kick from substitute Eric Danso was headed down to beat goalkeeper Joseph Addo by an unmarked Huzaif Ali.

The Dreams side maintained their single-goal advantage to win 1-0, the same scoreline as Aduana achieved when the two sides first met in Dawu on match-day 15.

Huzaif Ali received the man-of-the-match award.

With 52 points, Aduana FC stand second to Medeama SC, who will end the round with a four-point lead over them.
