Samartex aims top finish in second top-flight GPL season

Chief Executive Officer of Samartex FC, Edmund Ackah dreams of a top finish in the club’s second season in the betPawa Ghana Premier League.

The Timber giants have amassed 42 points from 30 games so far in their maiden top-flight season.

Samartex beat giants Hearts of Oak 3-2 on Sunday and are five points ahead of the relegation sides.

“Most of the teams that qualify to the Premier League normally fail to stay up.

“The perception has always been that the teams just qualify to make up the numbers in the Ghana Premier League but we want to change the narrative

“We want to stay in the league for the first season then from next season, we let Ghanaians know us well,” Ackah told Asempa FM.

The Ghana Premier League will go on break for the FA Cup semifinal games this weekend.

Next up on match-day 31, FC Samartex will travel to the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese to face King Faisal.
