Aduana loses top spot in GPL, thrashed 3-0 by Accra Lions

Aduana suffered a shocking 3-0 defeat at the hands of Accra Lions on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The league leaders needed a win to keep their spot and they failed. One goal in the first half and two great second half moves were enough for Lions.

Team News:
Accra Lions began the game with top marksman Seidu Bassit while Aduana trusted Kelvin Obeng and Isaac Mintah in attack.

Accra Lions netted the first goal through Baba Salifu Apiiga in the 24th minute and they held on to lead at the break despite Aduana’s constant attacking threats.

After recess, Lions maintained their defensive awareness and relied on counter-transition to score their two goals.

Evans Botchway in the 75th minute and Bassit compounded matters for Aduana with his 82nd minute header.

Now Aduana lie second in the league log with 52 points, one behind Medeama. The Fire Boys play Nsoatreman in their next clash

Lions will also play Great Olympics in Accra.
