Zambia plays Germany in historic international friendly

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has announced that the Copper Queens, will face Germany in what is set to be a landmark friendly international for the World Cup debutants.

The Copper Queens qualified for their first ever Fifa Women’s World Cup after winning the Bronze medal at the 2022 Women’s African Cup of Nations.

Zambia have been drawn in Group C alongside Costa Rica, Spain & former Champions Japan.

The international friendly will take place on July 7, 2023 at the Sportspark Ronhof in Furth.

Zambia as part of its preparations for their maiden World Cup has already played friendlies with Colombia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Uzbekistan, and South Korea.

The 2023 Fifa World Cup will kick off on July 20.

The Queens open their campaign on July 22 against Japan in Hamilton before facing Spain four days later at Eden Park Auckland.

The final Group C match will be against Costa Rica on July 31 at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton.
