Ignatius Osei-Fosu positive on GPL title dreams with King Faisal

King Faisal coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu is confident his team can avoid relegation from the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League if their performance improve.

The young gaffer who recently took over from Jimmy Cobblah, beat his former club, Dreams FC on Sunday to continue their fine run in the recent matches.

King Faisal have won three and drawn two in their last five games in all competitions.

Despite being 12-points behind league leaders, Aduana FC, Osei-Fosu is ambitiously refusing to give up on King Faisal’s title hopes.

“Our target is to play well. And if we play well, clearly we are going to escape relegation. For me, all things being equal, mathematically we can also win the league,” he told 3Sports.

“I think apart from Aduana who have 44 points and I think Medeama, all the rest of the clubs are relegation bound mathematically.

“So we can also win but whether it is possible or not is what we have to see.”

Osei-Fosu continued: “But clearly, we want to escape relegation and for us, once we have come to the 10th or 9th spot, we believe that we will no more be relegation-threatened.

“We have to play as a team which has a course and King Faisal will be happy to hit the top four.”

The Inshallah Boys are currently 11th on the league log – four clear of the relegation zone, with eight games to go.
