I hope to win the African Footballer of the Year – Mohammed Kudus

Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus is confident on winning the African Player of the Year award in the coming years.

Kudus revealed his aspirations on the Africa best player award in an interview with Ajax TV.

When asked if he envisages winning the crown in his career, the midfielder said:

“I believe everything is possible in this world. So definitely I believe that I will be chosen one day for the award.”

Senegal’s Sadio Mane is the current holder of the crown and Ghana’s last winner of the African Footballer of the Year award is Abedi Ayew Pele.

Kudus has 11 goals and two assists in 26 league games for Ajax Amsterdam in the 2022/23 season.

He featured in both games for Ghana against Angola in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

The 22-year-old is nursing an injury in the Dutch Cup semifinals against Feyenoord.

Kudus scored two goals and had an assist in three games at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
