2022/23 MTN FA Cup: Dreams FC in semis after extra-time win over Legon Cities

Dreams FC had to dig deep to beat Legon Cities 1-0 after extra time in the first quarterfinal match of the 2022/3 MTN FA Cup on Good Friday.

The all-Premier League tie at Dawu Park was level – 0-0 – at the end of normal time.

The hosts, however, were able to break the deadlock in the subsequent two equal periods of extra time.

It was right-back Ebenezer Adade who scored that crucial decider, with a solo effort in the 13th minute of the first half of extra time.

Dreams held on for the remaining minutes and second half to book their semifinal spot – for a second successive season.

The MTN FA Cup quarterfinals continue on Saturday with Real Tamale United hosting Nsoatreman FC at Aliu Mahama Stadium on Saturday, April 8.

The final two games of this stage will see Skyy FC host fellow Division One side Ebusua Dwarfs at St. Martin’s Park at Daboase while Ghana Premier League (GPL) leaders Aduana FC travel to face King Faisal at Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday, April 9.
