Konadu hails Legon Cities fightback against Olympics

Legon Cities coach, Maxwell Konadu has commended the effort of his players after fighting back to hold Great Olympics in their 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 23 clash on Sunday.

A Nicholas Mensah own goal put the Royals behind just 15 minutes into the game at the Accra Sports Stadium. But Kwabena Adu Meider unleashed a screamer to level matters in the 60th minute with Cities managing to hold off for a 1-1 draw.

“My players did well to come back,” coach Konadu said of his team after the game.

“We changed our system in the second half and that helped us hold Olympics to the end of the game.

“We needed the three points today but it didn’t happen. We will put this behind us and look forward to the next game,” he added.

The result currently hooks Maxwell Konadu’s side at 15th position after 23 matches played in the league campaign.

With Legon Cities, a win in their next game will be of great joy to the club as they host Asante Kotoko at home in their next fixture on Thursday, March 30.
