Kotoko hold Nsoatreman to 0-0 draw

Champions Asante Kotoko’s uninspiring away form continued as they travelled to hold Nsoatreman FC in a 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 18 fixture Saturday afternoon.

The football on display at Nana Amoah Koramansah II Park was not pretty overall, but the hosts played with sheer grit and determination in their resolve to down the Porcupine Warriors.

Kotoko had goalkeeper Frederick Asare to thank as he produced two crucial saves in the second half to deny Nsoatreman

In the 62nd minute, Mark Agyekum had an open goal at his mercy after outpacing newly-signed Kotoko centre-back Mohammed Alhassan, but Asare was able to block his strike.

Asare was on hand again in the 85th minute to keep his side in the game.

Kotoko’s threatening effort came through midfielder Enoch Morrison when his long-range strike missed the target by inches.

The 0-0 result means Nsoatreman FC move to 24 points while Asante Kotoko – who have now drawn for the 7th time in 18 games – are on 28 points.

Nsoatreman’s Philip Ofori won the man-of-the-match award.
