Nsoatreman FC snapped a three-game losing streak with a scrappy 1-0 victory over fellow newcomers FC Samartex 1996 on match-day 11 of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The Nana Amoah Koramansah II Park outfit had suffered back-to-back defeats to Bechem United, Hearts of Oak and King Faisal, conceding six goals and scoring none.
The winless streak appeared to continue on Sunday until substitute Walid Fuseini broke the deadlock with a long-range strike in the 75th minute.
And that eventually proved the match-winner for the hosts.
Nsoatreman FC climb to 7th in the standings with 16 points after 11 games. FC Samartex, on the other hand, drop into the relegation zone – 16th – with 12 points.
Goalkeeper Daniel Afadzwu, who made several saves to deny the visitors, was awarded the man-of-the-match award for his performance.
