King Faisal earn 2-0 win over Nsoatreman

King Faisal made it a 40% win by beating newcomers Nsoatreman FC 2-0 on match-day 10 of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The Kumasi-based club endured a difficult start to the campaign, losing their first five games.

Faisal, however, have enjoyed a turnaround in fortunes – picking three straight wins, a loss the last time out at Dreams FC, and then bouncing back at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on New Year’s Day.

The goals will not arrive until the second half and they came in quick succession.

Midfielder Joseph Gordon broke the deadlock by blasting home a pass from Samuel Adom Antwi in the 79th minute.

Within three minutes, Faisal made it 2-0. Playmaker Godfred Asiamah sprinted on a solo run from the centre circle before hitting past goalkeeper Daniel Afatsao.

King Faisal, despite moving to 12 points as three other clubs, remain in the relegation zone – 16th – due to a poor goal difference.

Nsoatreman FC, on the other hand, are in position 12 with 13 points.

Faisal’s Samuel Adom Antwi picked up the man-of-the-match award.
