Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil scored his eighth goal of the season on Sunday as KRC Genk defeated RFC Seraing 4-0 in the 2022/23 Belgian Pro League.
The leaders reigned supreme in front of their home fans at the Cegeka Arena with two goals in each half.
Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu set the ball rolling with a converted penalty in the 7th minute.
Mike Trésor Ndayishimiye made it 2-0 in the 14th minute.
Following that, Onuachu registered his 16th goal of the season on the hour mark to make it 3-0 by nodding in a cross from Trésor.
In-form Paintsil then sealed the win with a strike in the 64th minute.
With a game in hand against KAS Eupen scheduled for February 1, KRC Genk currently hold a 6-point lead over Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgian league standings.
