Ibrahim Sadiq set for deadline day switch to Saint-Étienne

Ghana winger Ibrahim Sadiq has arrived in France to complete his transfer from BK Häcken to Ligue 2 side AS Saint-Étienne on deadline day.

Swedish outlet Sportbladet first reported that the 22-year-old left Häcken’s 2023 pre-season training camp in Marbella, Spain Tuesday morning to seal a move to an unnamed French club.

It has now emerged that the club is Saint-Étienne. They have shown interest in signing the 2017 Fifa U-17 World Cup player for some time now.

Under contract with Häcken until June 2025, Sadiq comes out of a good year in the Swedish top tier. He registered 7 goals and 4 assists in 19 games as they won the 2022 Allsvenskan.

Ibrahim Sadiq is expected to commit to a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Greens after passing a mandatory medical.

AS Saint-Étienne have made as many as six signings already including Ghanaian-born Denis Appiah this winter transfer window.
