Abednego Tetteh at the double as GoldStars edge Tamale City in 5-goal thriller

Abednego Tetteh notched a brace, including one deep in stoppage time, as Bibiani GoldStars gained a 3-2 victory over Tamale City on match-day 14 of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League (GPL).

It was forward Sampson Eduku who scored to put Tamale City 1-0 up within 6 minutes at Aliu Mahama Stadium on Saturday.

But that lead would be cancelled out however by Emmanuel Appau for the visitors in the third minute of first-half stoppage time.

The second half saw Eduku on the scoresheet once more for the Citizens in the 54th minute.

The 2-1 advantage would last for just 14 minutes as the Miners pegged back through striker Abednego Tetteh who came off the bench for his debut having joined earlier this week.

And six minutes after the 90, Tetteh would score his second to give GoldStars all three points.

The 3-2 defeat means Tamale City would remain second from the bottom of the standings with 11 points after 14 matches while Bibiani GoldStars temporarily move to third position in the standings on 23 points (11 of which have been secured on the road).
