8 months on, Salim Adams leaves for FC Cincinnati adventure

Ghana midfielder Salim Adams has finally travelled to the United States to begin his career with FC Cincinnati 2, some eight (8) months after the deal was announced.

The 20-year-old was playing for local giants Hearts of Oak when a loan agreement was reached for the youngster to continue his development at the reserve side of fellow Common Value Club Alliance partners FC Cincinnati.

“FC Cincinnati 2 announced today that they have acquired midfielder, Salim Adams, on a loan through 2022, with an option to purchase, from Ghanaian club Accra Hearts of Oak, pending league and federation approval, in addition to ITC and work authorization,” portions of a release by the American side on May 4, 2022 read.

But Salim’s dreams of playing in the maiden edition of the MLS Next Pro League did not materialise.

He could not travel from Ghana due to paperwork issues.

Salim Adams finally flew out of Accra in the company of his manager Abdul Salam Yakubu on the night of Monday, January 2, 2023, all set for a loan spell with FC Cincinnati 2.
