Legon Cities beat bottom side Kotoku Royals 3-0 away

Legon Cities travelled to hand bottom-placed their 7th defeat via a 3-0 thrashing on match-day 9 of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League (GPL) at Cape Coast Sports Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

The topflight debutants came into the game without a substantive head coach, having announced parting ways with Seth Ablade for nonperformance over a week ago.

Assistant coach Akakpo lead the team and was given a baptism.

Captian Jonah Attuquaye set Legon Cities on the path to victory with the opener in the 26th minute.

The Royals had to wait until the hour mark to go two up via a penalty converted by striker Kofi Kordzi – his first at the club.

Another new signing – Alex Aso – made it 3-0 with an effort in the first minute of additional time.

Legon Cities climb into 6th position on 14 points while Kotoku Royals continue to stay at the foot of the standings with 4 points after 9 games.

Jonah Attuquayew received the man-of-the-match award.
