Black Galaxies recover to beat Hearts 2-1 in friendly

Ghana’s Black Galaxies defeated local giants Hearts of Oak 2-1 in a test match at Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram on Sunday.

The side – led by coach Annor Walker – is stepping up readiness for the 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) which kicks off January 13, 2023 in Algeria.

The visiting Phobians shot their noses in front through Amankwah Baafi in the first half.

But Galaxies responded in the second half with striker Bright Adjei and midfielder David Abagna scoring in quick succession to turn the tide.

The Black Galaxies will continue their camping at the GSCE for about a fortnight more before heading out for the CHAN in Algeria.

The team is likely to play one high profile international friendly before the tournament.

Ghana – making a return for the first time since 2014 – will compete in Group C with Madagascar, Sudan and Morocco.
