A hat-trick inside the opening 15 minutes handed Bechem United a 3-0 win over newcomers Nsoatreman FC in their 2022/23 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 8 clash Sunday afternoon.
It was Cephas Kofi Mantey who became the talk of the day. An ecstatic Hunters faithful witnessed him score all the goals at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
Nsoatreman were unable to withstand early pressure, falling behind to two quick-fire goals by the impressive 20-year-old within one minute – he scored in the 3rd and 4th minutes.
In the 15th minute, Mantey completed his treble for Bechem, bringing his season total to four goals.
Nsoatreman never recovered from the early setback, while Bechem failed to add any more goals as they appeared certain of collecting the three points.
The victory means Bechem – who climb to 8th position – close the gap between them to just a point. 6th-placed Nsoatreman have 13 points after 8 games.
Following his incredible hat-trick, Cephas Mantey was adjudged man-of-the-match.
