Jojo Wollacott will miss the 2022 Fifa World Cup with Ghana after suffering a significant injury to one of his fingers on Saturday.
The Black Stars’ first-choice goalkeeper was forced to pull out of Charlton Athletic’s 3-3 stalemate at Burton Albion.
After the game, manager Ben Garner confirmed that the 26-year-old hurt his finger during warm-up and was set for scans to determine his chances.
“We’re praying for good news. He’s got a scan as soon as we get back to London. He just caught one on the end of his finger. We’re just hoping it’s a ligament or something like that. A little sprain in there.
“We’re just praying for good news. He’s due to fly out tomorrow and join up with Ghana. Hopefully, we get good news,” the Addicks boss said.
