“Black Stars have the quality to compete with Portugal” – Otto Addo

Ghana coach Otto Addo is confident that his team has sufficient quality and just needs to be brave when they slug it out with Portugal on Thursday.

The Black Stars will open their Qatar 2022 Fifa World Cup campaign against the Selecao. The Group H match is scheduled for Stadium 974 with kickoff at 16:00 GMT.

“I think we have the quality to compete with Portugal.

“Surely, we have to be very brave. We have to be confident.

“We want to play football, but we also have to defend well,” coach Addo said at a pre-match conference Wednesday.

Ghana captain Andre Ayew believes Ronaldo sideshow won’t affect Portugal

The 2006 World Cup campaigner with the Black Stars added that fine details will decide the match.

“As you have seen from previous matches, little things can decide the winner.

“All previous matches were very close and could have turned in either direction. I expect the match against Portugal to be the same,” he added.

After Thursday’s match, Ghana will play South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively to complete the group games.
