Take Otto Addo to the World Cup – Fred Pappoe

Former Ghana Football Association Veep, Fred Pappoe has backed Black Stars head coach Otto Addo to be maintained for the upcoming 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar.

The Dortmund trainer has been under intense pressure after qualifying Ghana for their fourth outing at the Mundial.

Since his appointment, Addo has played 5 games won one, lost one and drawn three.

This makes many doubt him as the man to lead Ghana at the World Cup which is a few weeks away from starting.

However, Fred Pappoe thinks it will be suicidal to fire the ex-international for someone else at this time.

“We should not be quick to pass judgment on whether Otto Addo is good or bad, to me he is good.

“We cannot change him at this time, For me that will be suicidal,” he said in an interview with Akoma FM.

Stars can do well

Ghana’s last appearance at the Fifa World Cup was disastrous as they failed to win a single game in the group stage and got knocked out.

Having been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay, Pappoe is optimistic Ghana will perform well in Qatar.

“Ghana can perform well at the World Cup.

“It’s all about preparations and so far with the friendlies Ghana has played the coaches must be in a position to do a proper evaluation,” he noted.
