New boys Nsoatreman grab 3-0 win in first meeting with Karela

Newly-promoted Nsoatreman FC were 3-0 winners when they hosted Karela United in a first-ever meeting between the two sides on match-day 4 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League (GPL) Sunday afternoon.

The game also marked the second in the hosts’ topflight history at the Nana Amoah Koramansah II Park.

18-year-old Stephen Diou stole the show with a brace while Yakubu scored in between for Nsoatreman to secure all three points.

Diyou put coach Gago Mohammed’s side in the lead as early as the 6th minute.

Yakubu made it 2-0 on 33 minutes.

Then in the 69th minute, Diuou – who was donning the number 10 shirt – completed his brace for Nsoatreman.

The 3-0 victory sees Nsoatreman move to 7 points from four games played. Karela United have 6 points after two wins and two defeats.

Two-goal hero Stephen Diuou won the man-of-the-match award.
