Kyereh scores for the second straight game in Freiburg 2-0 Nantes

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh was on target for the second game running as SC Freiburg defeated FC Nantes 2-0 to maintain their 100 percent record in Group G of the 2022/23 Uefa Europa League Thursday night.

It was the Ghana international’s goal which set the tone for the German side who had to play this third group fixture without their COVID-hit coach Christian Streich.

Kyereh, who scored his first competitive goal for Freiburg just five days ago, continued the performance he showed against Mainz in the Bundesliga and netted again just three minutes into the second half.

After a mistake by the guests, Ritsu Doan put the ball across for the 26-year-old to hand Freiburg the lead from close range – Kyereh celebrated his first goal in the Europa League with a backflip.

Following this 2-0 victory and FK Qarabag’s 3-0 win in Greece, Group G is now led by SC Freiburg with nine points.

Qarabag come in second with six points, Nantes in third place with three points and Olympiacos stay bottom with zero points.
