King Faisal part ways with coaches three games into 2022/23 GPL

Serbian duo Branko Božović and Ivica Cvetanovski have been relieved of their duties at King Faisal after a poor start to the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The Kumasi-based club has failed to pick even a point from the three games played so far – lost to Berekum Chelsea, Aduana FC and Great Olympics.

As a result, the Faisal management has decided it is time for a change in technical direction.

“The club would love to announce that we have parted ways with our coaches, Branko Bozovic and Ivica Cvetanovski.

“We are grateful for the commitment, professionalism and passion they displayed during their stay at the club and we wish them the best in their future endeavours,” a club statement Monday read.

King Faisal – who have a penchant for hiring expatriate coaches – are tipped to go for locals as a replacement this time. Ernest Thompson-Quartey and Jimmy Cobblah are believed to top the list of options.
