Accra Lions beat Dreams in Dawu for third straight win

Accra Lions made it three wins on the bounce by making a short trip to Dawu Park to beat Dreams FC 1-0 on match-day 4 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League (GPL) Sunday afternoon.

Starting the season, Lions fell to newly-promoted Kotoku Royals in Cape Coast but bounced back with wins against Karela United and Tamale City.

They visited a wounded Dreams side who were looking to return to winning ways after losing away at Karela on match-day 3.

But a Shawkan Mohammed effort denied them. The 19-year-old midfielder was just at the right spot to feed on the rebound after Malian forward Youssouf Simpara’s strike came off the post.

Accra Lions held on to the lead for a 1-0 victory and move their tally to 9 points while Dreams stay on 6 points.

Emmanuel Agyei of Dreams FC was named man-of-the-match.
