Medeama had to sack Ignatius Osei last season – Moses Parker

Medeama SC bankroller Moses Armah says the sacking of former coach Ignatius Osei Fosu helped his side last season.

Fosu was sacked from the Yellow and Mauves after failing to win in the first three games of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

Umar Rabi replaced the now Dreams FC coach as he steered them to the second spot behind champions Asante Kotoko.

For Parker, who spoke to Onua TV, the decision to offload Osei Fosu is one he never regretted.

“Yes, for last season, Rabiu was great. If I recall, he took over before we went to Techiman [against Eleven Wonders].

“And it was a perfect move, we needed it because things didn’t go the way we envisaged.

“I am telling you frankly, I noticed certain things and felt we will not have a good campaign so we had to change coaches.

“Rabi came in to move the team and that’s why we finished second.”

Medeama is now coached by the experienced David Duncan, who has earned six points in the first two games of the 2022/23 league season.

The Tarkwa-based outfit hopes to win their first league title.
